Flight over Mt Blanc
Norway’s Marius Jansen (www.tandemparaglider.com) flew his tandem powered paraglider over the summit of Mont Blanc in June.
As reported in issue 9 of Paramotor Magazine, a good forecast for Chamonix, France, saw him make the 20 hour drive south with photographer and tandem passenger Knut Ståle Thomassen. With access to the most obvious start point, the Brevent above Chamonix, closed, the pair took off from half way up the Aiguille du Midi. A local by-law meant a no-power launch – the engine had to be switched on once the pair were in the air.
