The Paramotor Magazine Team

Making Issue 01

We are a group of dedicated pilots passionate about our flying. Second only to flying is our passion for making magazines for the rest of our flying community.

Paramotor Magazine is produced by XC Media, a small publishing house owned by pilots. XC Media also publishes Cross Country international, the international hang gliding and paragliding magazine, which has been in circulation for two decades and is delivered to pilots in more than 75 countries around the world.

MARCUS KING – EDITOR / DESIGNER
editor@paramotormag.com
As well as editing Paramotoring Magazine and designing both Paramotor Magazine and Cross Country, Kingy is our technical expert in all sort of departments. Not just because he’s the man we scream for when the networks crash and the computers throw up those pesky ‘run time’ errors, Marcus also has the technical wherewithal to understand many of the technical aspects of flying that leave most of us scratching our heads. He’s a passionate and very experienced pilot who claims his artistic side is best stimulated at cloudbase. “If you want the mags to look good you’re gunna have to let me go flying…..â€

BOB DRURY – FEATURES EDITOR
Bob’s involvement in PPG began when he trained a flock of geese to follow him over the Alps on a paramotor for a BBC documentary. As well as now being a seasoned animal trainer he’s one of the most accomplished adventure pilots in the world. His high altitude paragliding expeditions in the Himalayas have won him accolade throughout the world as both a pilot and a writer. In addition to his job as features editor at PM Mag, Bob is also the editor for Cross Country magazine.

HUGH MILLER - PUBLISHER
Hugh has been obsessed with flying since a child. His first exploits in paragliding began as a teenager when he deftly showed his skill at the sport winning the British championship and the World Air Games aged just eighteen.
With a degree in journalism under his belt Hugh bought Cross Country magazine ten years ago and built it in to the globally selling publication it is today. He then went on to publish first Kite World a magazine dedicated to the kiting market. Paramotor Magazine is his third publication and combines his first love for flying with his talent for publishing successful adventure sports magazines.

VERITY SOWDEN
Verity’s the cheery voice that answers the phone when you ring the UK office to enquire about your subscription, or pick up a DVD. As our operations’ manager she runs the UK office in Brighton, the on-line shop and makes sure you get exactly what you ask for, when you ask for it.
Verity’s also a dedicated and capable paraglider pilot so, if you hear a lot of wind noise and a vario when you ring up, you know she’s set the phones to divert and is on her way to cloudbase somewhere over the South Downs.

MICHEL CARNET – PROMOTIONS
Silver medallist at the world championships and six times British Champion, Michel is one of the most experienced and dedicated PPG pilots in the world. Since discovering flying on a hang glider tandem flight in 1976, Michel has built his life around flying.
As the owner of one of the UK’s most successful school for many years, Michel flew everything from hang gliders and paragliders through to sailplanes and microlights. Ever since paramotoring arrived in the UK in the early nineties Michel has been passionate about the sport. He’s been instrumental in the development of the sport and still spends as much time off the ground as he possibly can.
