PARAMOTOR FLIGHT ACROSS IRELAND

Jason Killian

Jason Killian took-off from the west coast near Ballyshannon, County Donegal around 12:15pm on the 5th September and landed near Blackrock, County Louth two and a half hours later and in so doing made the first crossing by paramotor of Ireland. Low cloud, turbulence and rain plagued the first part of the flight, but once Jason was out of the mountains and into the flatlands the flight went well and without incident. Flying with a Bailey 4-stroke with a standard fuel tank and a Dudek Reaction TST wing and making use of a tail wind gave Jason good fuel consumption, in fact he landed with nearly half a tank of fuel still remaining. The total distance was approximately 140km, the GPS trace will be available soon.
